US to impose sanctions on Sudan

The United States will impose new sanctions on Sudan from June 6 after accusing the government of using chemical weapons in its civil war against the Rapid Support Forces, though no specific evidence or details were released according to the BBC on 25th May.
The measures will include restrictions on exports and financial borrowing, prompting Sudanese officials to reject the claims as politically motivated and baseless.
Both the army and RSF have been accused of war crimes during the conflict, which has killed over 150,000 people since it began two years ago.
