The Algerian Union Bank (AUB) is set to open its third branch in Zouérate this June, continuing its expansion in Mauritania. Currently operating in Nouakchott and Nouadhibou, the bank aims to finance Algerian exports and investment projects between the two countries.

According to the Algerian government-friendly AL24 News, with $50 million in capital and backed by four public Algerian banks, AUB is focusing on strengthening economic ties. The bank plans to accelerate financing activities in 2025, reviewing promising projects from Algerian and Mauritanian investors.

AUB is positioning itself as a key player in showcasing Algerian industrial capabilities in West African markets, using Mauritania as a strategic gateway for international economic cooperation.
