Kenya backs Morocco’s autonomy plan for Sahara dispute

The Republic of Kenya has endorsed Morocco’s autonomy plan as the sole sustainable solution to the Sahara issue.
According to the Moroccan government-friendly Hespress, in a joint statement following diplomatic talks in Rabat, Kenya welcomed the growing international consensus supporting the initiative led by King Mohammed VI.
Both nations reaffirmed support for UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2756 (2024), and emphasised the United Nations’ exclusive role in the political process. Kenya expressed its intention to cooperate with like-minded states to implement the autonomy plan.
