Israel strikes Sanaa airport after Houthi missile fire

Israel struck Yemen’s main airport in Sanaa on May 28th, igniting a plane and damaging the runway, a day after Houthi militants launched missiles toward Israel, according to The National.
The airport had only recently reopened following earlier strikes. Israel’s defence minister said the raid targeted the Houthis’ last operational aircraft and warned of repeated strikes on key infrastructure.
UN envoy Hans Grundberg condemned attacks on civilian sites, warning of worsening regional instability.
Despite months of air raids, Houthi forces continue launching missiles at Israel and disrupting Red Sea shipping in support of Gaza. Israel blamed Iran as the Houthis’ main backer.
