In a coordinated operation with local authorities in the Khouribga province, Moroccan police have intercepted an attempt to traffic 3.85 tonnes of hashish near the city of Oued Zem on May 25, reports Yabiladi.
Acting on intel from its domestic intelligence and security agency (DGST), officers intercepted two utility vehicles transporting the drugs and arrested four suspects aged between 23 and 35.
The armed suspects, two of whom were already wanted for drug-related and violent crime offenses, allegedly resisted arrest, prompting an officer to “issue a warning shot.” Searches revealed bundles of hashish, fake license plates, and weapons.
