UK’s Starmer faces criticism over the handling of Gaza conflict

According to a survey, 82% of Muslim representatives from the UK’s ruling Labour Party think Prime Minister Keir Starmer has tackled the Gaza war poorly, Middle East Eye reported on June 5th.
The Labour Muslim Network (LMN) survey which used more than 220 elected Muslim representatives as participants, found that two-thirds do not think Muslims in the Labour Party are treated the same as the party’s non-Muslim counterpart.
The survey also found that 82% Muslim representatives from the party are in favour of sanctions on Israel, while 97% endorse the swift recognition of a Palestinian state. The survey also found that one-third of Muslim representatives of the party have been subjected to Islamophobia in the party.
