Ghanaian nationals can now travel to Morocco without obtaining traditional visas, thanks to a new bilateral agreement, according to Africanews on June 6th.

Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, announced that the policy takes effect immediately. Travelers will no longer need to visit the Moroccan embassy for a visa; instead, they can secure an online travel authorisation within 24 hours.

“This is one of the key agreements reached with the Moroccan Foreign Minister during my two-day working visit,” Ablakwa said in a statement.

The development is expected to strengthen tourism, trade, and personal ties. “The borders in Africa must not be allowed to divide us; they can be bridges of connectivity,” he added.
