UK: University criticised over pro-Palestine activism crackdown

Some University of Cambridge colleges have been criticised after they attained court injunctions which make pro-Palestine protest encampments on university grounds criminal, Middle East Eye reported on June 7th.

Trinity College and St John’s College got injunctions last week after activists put in place encampments in a bid to condemn what they refer to as the university’s continued ties with Israeli companies.

The colleges lawyer has requested that the interim injunctions are made to be final and effective for a year. The lawyer said the campus demonstrations have been a source of disruption for students sitting examinations.
