Home Office U-turn allows Afghan rights activist to stay in UK

A woman from Afghanistan who put her life on the line to protect human rights, has been permitted to stay in the UK, after the Home office took a U-turn, following a previous rejecting of her claim.
The woman, who is known as “Mina” took part in guiding and mentoring women in Afghanistan, and was involved in Western government-endorsed initiatives, The Guardian reported on June 12th.
This meant that even before 2021 when the Taliban took control, the woman’s safety was alarmingly at risk. Mina says she now feels free to progress onto a more liberal life in the UK: “A freedom which is taken from millions of Afghan women.”
