Iran launches fresh wave of missiles at Israel

Iran launched a fresh wave of missile strikes on Israel wounding civilians in residential areas, as Israel claimed it was targeting Tehran, Al-Monitor reported on June 14th.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to strike “every target of the ayatollah regime,” while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that continued attacks would bring “a more severe and powerful response.”
Israel began its operation early on June 13th, targeting air defences and nuclear sites, killing dozens, including uranium enrichment centrifuges, high-ranking commanders and atomic scientists, according to Iranian sources.
As Israel struck military targets in Tehran, Iran launched a “new wave” of attacks. An Iranian missile struck a home in the Haifa region, wounding roughly 12 people. Meanwhile, Israeli missiles hit two fuel depots in Tehran, sparking fires.
Tehran reported that Israeli strikes had killed 78 and wounded 320 people. Iran’s drone and missile barrage killed at least three within Israel, Sky News reported on June 14th. Al Arabiya English reported on June 14th that Netanyahu said Israel had delivered a “real blow” to Iran’s nuclear programme. The leader has also claimed support from US President Donald Trump. Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed that the conflict “should end,” according to Trump.
Pezeshkian accused the US of “dishonesty” for backing Israel while engaging in nuclear talks. Iran cancelled upcoming negotiations, saying it could not negotiate under attack, France 24 via AFP reported on June 14th. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned of a “dangerous cycle of violence.”
Israeli strikes also reportedly hit the Natanz enrichment facility and killed top military officials, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) head Hossein Salami. Iran confirmed 30 of its soldiers were killed in one province alone. The Red Crescent reported an ambulance was struck in Urmia city, causing two deaths.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed to have struck dozens of Israeli targets. Israeli forces rescued trapped civilians in Tel Aviv after airstrikes. In Tehran, heavy smoke rose from multiple sites. Iran warned Western powers not to intervene, while fears of wider war mounted across the region.
