UN calls Israeli military action in Gaza unconscionable

The Human Rights Chief of the United Nations has strongly condemned Israel’s military activity in Gaza, asserting that the country has brought devastation to the the enclave, that is “unconscionable.”
According to Middle East Eye on June 16th, Volker Turk said to the the Human Rights Council: “Israel’s means and methods of warfare are inflicting horrifying, unconscionable suffering on Palestinians in Gaza.”
Turk also denounced Israel’s government for intentionally blocking humanitarian provisions and weaponising hunger. He also called for swift and impartial probes into the attacks on civilians travelling to aid hubs. The chief also conveyed concern over the rhetoric from the country’s leading officials.
