UN raises the alarm over unprecedented violence in Gaza

The United Nations has raised the alarm over what it refers to as a record increase in violence towards children in war zones including Gaza, Middle East Eye reported on June 20th.
The United Nations stated in its yearly report that over 8,500 grave breaches against Palestinian minors took place last year, with the majority being conducted by Israel’s forces. Over 4,800 of the breaches took place in the Gaza Strip alone.
The organisation said it had verified the deaths of 1,259 of Gaza’s Palestinian children. But 4,470 alleged child deaths have not yet been verified and are in the process of being reviewed.
