Israeli soldiers advance into Syria, destroying homes and land

Israeli soldiers advanced into south Syria and destroyed homes as well as large areas of Syrian territory, as regional conflict worsens in the Middle East, Middle East Eye reported on June 20th.

According to locals, armed Israeli forces advanced by at least 1.5 km into Quneitra province on June 19th, where they caused at least 15 homes to be destroyed as well as large areas of forest land and agricultural territory.

The locals said the Israeli advancement affected a number of towns, such as al-Hamidiyah. Israel said it advanced into Syrian territory to crack down on “extremist militants.”
