Israeli army strikes Hezbollah site in southern Lebanon

The Israeli army stated on June 21st that its navy struck a Hezbollah “infrastructure site” near Naqoura in southern Lebanon, as friction in the Middle East escalates, Arab News via AFP reported.
The military declared in a statement: “Overnight, an Israeli Navy vessel struck a Hezbollah ‘Radwan Force’ terrorist infrastructure site.”
Israel’s army claims the Lebanese militant group used the location to launch assaults on Israel’s civilians. Under a truce agreement, the Lebanese military is attempting to remove the group’s infrastructure.
Lebanon’s army stated this month that Israeli forces persist in violations and show a “refusal to cooperate.” It cautioned that this stance “could prompt the (Lebanese) military to freeze cooperation” on field inspections.
Only days ago, on June 19th, Israeli air strikes cause the death of three people in the south of Lebanon, Maghrebi.org reported via Anadolu Agency.
Middle East Eye reported on June 19th that Israel’s army said it killed the top Hezbollah artillery commander in Lebanon. The Israeli army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, declared that the commander Yassin Abdel Moneim Ezzedine planned attacks on Israeli targets. He also said the commander helped rebuild the Lebanese militant group’s artillery strength, according to Maghrebi.org on June 20th.
Due to the recent Iran-Israel war escalation and US attacks on Iranian nuclear locations, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun made a statement. He warned that the region cannot endure an expansion of the conflict and urged for prompt negotiations, Asharq Al-Awsat reported on June 23rd.
On June 22nd, President Aoun posted on X: “Lebanon, its leadership, parties, and people, are more aware than ever that it has paid a heavy price for the wars fought on its land and in the region. It is unwilling to pay more.”
