US President Donald Trump’s announced a phased ceasefire to formally end the conflict, as Iran states it would stop strikes if Israel halted its attacks, as reported by Al-Monitor on June 23rd.

Trump said both Israel and Iran agreed to a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE,” with Iran acting first, followed by Israel 12 hours later. Iran denied any formal agreement but indicated no intention to escalate the conflict, according to Al Jazeera on June 24th.

Hours before Trump’s ceasefire announcement, Iran targeted the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Trump dismissed the missile attack as “very weak”, claiming Tehran had given advanced warning, The Guardian reported on June 24th.
