UN agency chief: US-backed aid system in Gaza is abominable

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) chief Philippe Lazzarini condemned the US-backed Gaza aid system on June 24th, the Middle East Eye reported.

Lazzarini said the aid system is “an abomination,” during a Berlin press conference. The agency head said the system works to humiliate and degrade the desperate population of Gaza. Lazzarini also described it as a “death trap” which is causing a greater amount of deaths than the number of lives it claims to save.

On June 24th, a total of 71 Palestinians were killed, including 50 aid seekers, as the conflict in the enclave rages on.
