Gaza aid organisation will get $30 million from US

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation will receive $30 million in financial aid from the US State Department, marking the first known fund from the US government to the food aid organisation, France 24 via Reuters reported on June 27th.
The moves comes against a backdrop of growing concerns about the violence near aid hubs that provide food supplies to Gazans. Concerns have also been raised about the organisation’s connection with for-profit US companies.
Deputy spokesperson for the US State Department, Tommy Pigott, said: “We call on other countries to also support the GHF, the Gaza Humanitarian foundation, in its critical work.”
