Israel’s FM says country wants ties with Lebanon and Syria

Israel wants to form bilateral ties with Syria and Lebanon, but the future of Golan Heights is not up for debate, the Israeli foreign minister said, The New Arab plus agencies reported on June 30th.
On June 30th, the foreign minister of Israel, Gideon Saar, said that his country wishes to include Syria and Lebanon “to the circle of peace and normalisation.” But Saar said his country also wants to protect its vital and “security interests.”
Saar stressed that Golan will always be part of Israel’s territory. In 1981, Israel annexed the Golan Heights after it captured the heights from Syria.
