Israel’s national security minister rebuffs Gaza ceasefire deal

The national security minister of Israel, Itamar Ben Gvir, has refused to support the Gaza ceasefire deal, and has urged his country’s finance minister to follow suit, Middle East Eye reported on July 3rd.
Ben Gvir said: “I hope that Bezalel Smotrich will join forces with me…we must not stop the war without victory.” Ben Gvir also condemned the move to reintroduce the distribution of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Ben Gvir is known for his strong views, he previously called for police to take action on people found watching Al Jazeera’s content in Israel, Maghrebi via Middle East Eye reported on June 20th.
