Israeli attacks kill 92 in Gaza, civilians among victims

Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip since dawn on July 3rd killed 92 Palestinians, Middle East Eye via Wafa news agency reported on June 3rd.

Nearly half of those killed, 45 civilians, died while waiting for humanitarian aid, in yet another attack on aid-seeking Palestinians. Meanwhile, Amnesty International has claimed that Israel weaponises aid to perpetrate genocide, according to The New Arab plus agencies on July 3rd.

Israeli forces struck a gathering in the Tahlia area of eastern Khan Younis, killing at least seven civilians and injuring dozens.

Air strikes also hit Gaza City and Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, killing at least 13 people. Additionally, an Israeli drone strike near the Al-17 roundabout west of Deir al-Balah struck a civilian vehicle, killing four civilians inside.

An further air strike targeted the Al-Ghafari neighbourhood on Yafa Street, east of Gaza City, killing four more Palestinians and wounding several others. Medical sources identified the victims as Mohammad Saeed Ghazal, Amjad Khalil al-Bahtini, and Mohammad Khalil al-Bahtini.

Israeli artillery shelling in the east of Gaza City killed one person and injured several more. Wafa reported that the attacks repeatedly hit densely populated civilian areas, escalating fears of further loss of life as locals seek food and medical assistance.

The strikes occurred in locations where people had gathered in desperation for relief, worsening the already dire humanitarian crisis. In this light, the aid system in Gaza has been scrutinised, according to Maghrebi on June 27th. Doctors with borders have urged the US-backed aid system within Gaza to be dismantled, due to the high level of attacks surrounding them, Middle East Eye via AFP reported on June 27th.

In Gaza, doctors continue treating survivors with limited resources under increasingly strained conditions.
