Methane gas exposure kills Turkish soldiers in Iraq

Methane Gas exposure has killed 12 Turkish soldiers, as they were in a cave in north Iraq looking for the remains of another Turkish soldier, The National via Reuters reported on July 7th.
Troops had been looking through the mountain cave in Duhok on July 6th when 19 of the soldiers were exposed to methane gas, which has no colour or scent but can lead to asphyxiation, according to France 24 via The Associated Press on July 6th.
The ministry said: “Four other of our heroic comrades in arms, affected by methane gas, have died … bringing the total number of victims to 12.”
