Egypt blaze kills four and injures 27

A blaze in Egypt has resulted in a minimum of four people being killed and 27 injured following a fire at a major telecoms centre in Cairo, causing extensive disruptions, according to Al- Monitor on July 8th.
The fire occurred on July 7th and heavily disrupted internet and phone connections, resulting in the stock exchange suspending operations. Furthermore, Cairo governor Ibrahim Saber reported gas and electricity outages.
Inbound and outbound flights were also affected by the fire, though the Civil Aviation Ministry announced that all flights had resumed by the morning of July 8th.
In a statement the Health Ministry said: “Civil defence forces recovered four bodies from the scene of the incident.” The cause of the fire in Ramses Exchange and information regarding the 27 injured is yet to be announced.
Local news outlets reported the fire was extinguished by midnight on July 7th.
