Devastating flash flood kill 120 in the US

Flash floods in Texas, United States, has left residents in shock and grief as a minimum of 120 are said to be deceased and over 170 remain missing, on July 10th according to AfricaNews.
A fence in Hill Country has been decorated with an array of vibrant blooms, candles and photos of those that have sadly died- a growing memorial to capture the scale of this tragedy in Texas.
The victims included 8-year old sisters attending a summer camp, three friends who came to celebrate the 4th of July and a 91-year old grandma.
It has also been reported that more than 170 people are missing, majority being located in Kerr County, where approximately 100 victims have been recovered. The number of confirmed deaths remained at 120 on July 4th, nearly since the flood started.
Officials have conscientiously gone over the list of those unaccounted for, however the figures are often tough to pin down immediately after such disaster.
The floods have resulted in families being forced to act fast and escape in the middle of the night. One victim recounted how she and others, including a child, first took refuge in an attic before climbing onto a roof where they heard shrieks and witnessed vehicles floating past.
