Al-Sharaa threatens action on Lebanon over Syrian detainees

Ahmed al-Sharaa, the Syrian president, has purportedly said he will take diplomatic and economic measures against Lebanon due to the nation’s inaction over the issue of Syrian detainees in Lebanon’s prisons, Al-Monitor reported on July 11th.
Al-Sharaa purportedly claimed that Lebanon’s authorities have delayed action over the issue and said that the country’s lack of commitment to tackling the issue is not acceptable, according to SyriaTV.
Al-Sharaa also said that his country’s Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani would go to Lebanon for talks as the last diplomatic resort before Syria takes action against the government of Lebanon, SyriaTV added.
