Jordan and Turkey’s firefighters have been sent to Syria to contain the wildfires, working alongside Syria’s civil defense teams, France 24 reported on July 13th.

United Nations teams have also been operating on the Syrian coast on July 13th, as the fires continue to be tackled for a fourth day. Previously, The National reported on July 11th that Iraq was deploying firefighters to Syria, to assist with containing the blazes.

According to Syria’s SANA news agency, emergency units are trying to stop the fires from spreading to the al-Frunloq natural reserve, which has large-scale “interconnected forests.”
