Syria deploys forces in the south, as sectarian clashes kill 50

Security forces have been deployed in Syria’s southern province of Sweida on July 14th, following clashes between Druze fighters and Sunni Bedouin tribes which caused at least 50 deaths, according to Al-Monitor via AFP.
The escalation of sectarian conflict highlights the issues facing the government of the Syrian leader, Ahmad al-Sharaa. Alongside the clashes, revenge kidnappings were carried out by both parties.
The most recent clashes, which began on July 13th raged on to July 14th in a number of villages, according to the war monitor, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the Suwayda 24 news company.
