Jordan cracks down on pro-Palestine support, detaining hundreds

The intelligence agency of Jordan has detained and questioned hundreds in the last couple of months, over their support for Palestinians in Gaza, Middle East Eye reported on July 15th.

Reportedly, an extensive General Intelligence Department-led campaign is cracking down on activists as well as people who have provided any kind of support to those affected by Israel’s conflict with Gaza.

A detainee who spoke on the condition that they are not named, claimed: “The investigation was done purely for the sake of Israel. Jordan had nothing to do with it.”
