Yemen delays execution of Indian nurse found guilty of murder

Yemen’s authorities have decided to delay the execution of an Indian nurse who was put on death row due to committing murder, according to Indian foreign ministry sources, the BBC reported on July 15th.
Nimisha Priya, who faced a death sentence for murdering a man, was scheduled to be executed on July 16th. Priya, who is from Kerala in India, claimed that she did not murder Talal Abdo Mahdi, who had been her business partner.
The move is just a short-term deferral. The only means in which she can avoid execution, is if Mahdi’s family decide to pardon her.
