The United Nations has said that displacement in the occupied West Bank has reached record-levels not seen since Israel began occupying the territory almost six decades ago, Middle East Eye reported on July 15th.

The UN said that a military operation which was initiated in the occupied West Bank’s north in January has caused tens of thousands of people to experience displacement.

Spokesperson for UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Juliette Touma, said the military operation is affecting a number of refugee camps and “is causing the largest population displacement of the Palestinians in the West Bank since 1967.”
