Israel has called on the UN Human Rights Council to end a commission which investigates rights breaches in the Palestinian territories and Israel, claiming the commission has been biased, Al-Monitor via Reuters reported on July 17th.

Daniel Meron, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, said in a message sent on July 16th that The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel has been discriminatory towards Israel.

Israel has continuously condemned findings from the commission, which is mandated by the UN. The commission has criticised Israel’s military activity, following Israel’s response to the October 7th 2023 Hamas-led attacks.
