Libya: war crime suspect and former militia official arrested

A Libyan man accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity has been arrested in Germany on one of 11 warrants the International Criminal Court has placed in connection with war crimes in Libya, according to the BBC on July 18th.
The suspect was allegedly one of the most senior officials at Mitiga Prison in Tripoli, which is controlled by an anti-government militia, where he committed, ordered, or oversaw murder, torture, and rape.
The arrest follows the Tripoli government’s refusal on July 13th to extradite another suspect to the ICC, who was an official at the same prison and faces similar charges.
