971 explosive devices in Yemen removed by Saudi project

A total of 971 explosive devices in Yemen were removed by Project Masam of Saudi Arabia, including 891 unexploded ordnance, Arab News reported on July 20th.
Additionally, 78 anti-tank mines, one anti-personnel mine and an improvised explosive device formed part of the explosive devices removed. The operations were carried out in Marib, Aden, Jouf, Shabwa, Taiz, Hodeidah, Lahij, Sanaa, Al-Bayda, Al-Dhale and Saada.
A total of 506,437 mines have been removed since the project started in 2018, according to the project’s managing director, Ousama Al-Gosaibi. The project trains local demining engineers, giving them access to modern-day equipment.
