Pope Leo XIV denounced the “barbarity” of the Gaza conflict as well as the “indiscriminate use of force” as the civil defence agency of Gaza said at least 93 Palestinians waiting for food had been killed, The Guardian plus agencies reported on July 20th.

The ministry said on July 20th that the Palestinians died in different areas – mainly in Gaza’s north. According to the ministry, 80 of those who died, were killed by Israeli attacks while awaiting UN aid lorries.

According to the UN World Food Programme (WFP), not too long after going into the enclave, a WFP convoy consisting of 25 lorries containing food, was met with large crowds of civilians desperate for food, who were then fired at.
