Qatar in talks over staging Olympic Games in 2036

Qatar has expressed its interest in staging the Olympic and Paralympic Games for 2036, as the country engages in talks with the International Olympic Committee, The Guardian via PA Media reported on July 22nd.
According to the president of Qatar’s Olympic Committee, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the nation presently has 95% of the necessary “sports infrastructure in place to host the Games”.
Hosting the sports event in the heat of the Middle Eastern country may mean that that it will take place during colder months rather than the summer. The 2022 Qatar World Cup took place in November and December rather than June and July.
