Syrians sceptical over government findings into Alawite deaths

Syrians are condemning and questioning government findings into killings in Syria’s coastal region, which is largely populated with Alawites, amid the recent sectarian clashes in the country’s Suweida province, The New Arab reported on July 23rd.
The committee that was looking into the March violence in the provinces of Latakia and Tartus as well as additional locations said that it identified 298 people implicated in grave breaches, which caused the deaths of at least 1,426 members of the Alawite community – mainly civilians.
The investigation recorded grave violations against civilians which took place March 7th, 8th and 9th, but many Syrians are sceptical of the credibility of the findings.
