US approved major missile deal with Egypt

The US State Department approved the potential sale of surface-to-air missiles to Egypt, including several support items to operate the systems, according to Middle East Monitor via Al Jazeera on July 24th.
Surface-to-air missiles are potentially being sold to Egypt, including related elements of logistics and program support designed to operate the systems, according to the Pentagon. The estimated cost for the purchase is $4.67 billion according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
“This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of a major non-NATO ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East,” the Defense Security Cooperation Agency stated.
The prime contractor will be RTX Corporation, based in Massachusetts, in the United States. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency provided the necessary certifications required to notify the US Congress of the possible sale in the Future.
These actions are made after several offers from Israel are made from Israel threaten Egypt’s national security. Israel proposed a redeployment of over 600,000 Palestinians in Rafah, a city in Egypt.
This was later rejected by Egypt as it poses a threat to them, and it violates the peace treaty made between Israel and Egypt, where Israel is not allowed to deploy any military presence in the Buffer zones near the Palestine and Rafah border.
Furthermore, Egypt made a pact with China that would send Israel into a spiral. Cairo further made military cooperations with Beijing following several threats to their national security and Israel’s actions in the Middle East following the 12-day war with Iran.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is severely frustrated at Washington’s actions in the Middle indicating several imbalances in the Middle East threatening the stability made. China’s ambitions, especially its grand vision to maintain global balance, have seen eye to eye with Egypt as they are further threatened by Israel’s aggressive actions.
