UN sounds the alarm as 176,000 people are displaced in Syria

The United Nations has called for humanitarian assistance after identifying that more than 176,000 people in Syria’s south have experienced displacement, The New Arab reported on July 26th.
Gonzalo Vargas Llosa, a UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Syria representative, called for an increase in humanitarian assistance.
Llosa said in a statement released on the evening of July 25th that UNHCR units have joined forces with other UN agencies to evaluate the crisis, and explained that the conditions are dire, with many being left with no choice but to walk great lengths to arrive at safer places.
