Kuwait enforces sanctions on Hezbollah’s financial wing

Kuwait on July 28th enforced sanctions against Hezbollah’s financial wing, Al-Qard al-Hassan Association, which has already been targeted by sanctions from the US, according to Asharq Al-Awsat.
The Foreign Ministry’s committee responsible for carrying out UN Security Council resolutions under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, declared the move.
Al-Qard al-Hassan has faced rising scrutiny over its involvement in financing the activities of Hezbollah. Previously in July, Karim Souaid, Lebanon’s Central Bank Governor issued an order prohibiting banks and financial entities from dealing with the Hezbollah association.
