UN plan sees Syrian refugees return from Lebanon

Syrian refugees started returning to their home country from Lebanon on July 29th under a plan created by the United Nations and Lebanon’s government, according to The New Arab via The Associated Press.
The lethal 14-year civil war in Syria prompted over 14 million civilians to experience displacement, with an estimated 1.5 million of them moving to Lebanon.
The plan stipulated that the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) will provide $100 to each refugee that goes back to Syria. In Lebanon, over 15,300 refugees have conveyed an interest in going back to Syria through the plan.
