Yemen: Protests rage on over ongoing power outages

In Yemen’s east, demonstrations have intensified for a third day in a row as residents protested on July 29th over prolonged power outages, according to The New Arab via The Associated Press.
In Mukalla, Hadhramaut province’s capital city, hundreds of demonstrators, put up tents on the streets, obstructed roads and rallied against the globally-recognised Aden-based government as they called for the return of electricity.
The demonstrations started on July 27th, over electricity blackouts which currently go on for over 19 hours each day. Depleting fuel has prompted ongoing outages over the summer.
