Ex-Israeli officials call on Trump to help stop Gaza conflict

Roughly 600 ex-Israeli security officials have called on US president Donald Trump to push Israel to stop the conflict in Gaza as Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu contemplates widening Israel’s military campaign, The Guardian reported on August 4th.
The ex-officials said in an open letter that the conflict halting is the only means to free captives which have been held by Hamas.
The officials said: “Your credibility with the vast majority of Israelis augments your ability to steer prime minister Netanyahu and his government in the right direction: end the war, return the hostages, stop the suffering.”
