Hundreds of Gaza children could receive medical care in UK

Up to 300 Gaza children could receive free medical care in the UK, under plans formed by the UK government, as the territory faces a worsening humanitarian catastrophe, The New Arab via The Sunday Times reported on August 4th.
This comes against a backdrop of a hunger crisis facing the territory’s children, which is down to Israel’s blockade. The UK’s Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has said that the UK is ramping up efforts to support children who urgently need medical treatment.
But reportedly, the UK has currently taken in three of the purported 7,000 patients that have been evacuated from Gaza since October 2023.
