Palestinians go on hunger strike to push for release of activist

Over 60 Palestinian women from the occupied West Bank village of Umm al-Kheir have started a hunger strike, calling for the body of an activist killed by an Israeli settler to be released, The New Arab via Al Jazeera reported on August 5th.
The late activist, Awdah Hathaleen, was shot dead by the settler last month. With ages ranging from 13 to 70, the women started the strike on July 31st.
Hathaleen was a member of the village’s non-violent resistance campaign and also made an appearance in “No Other Land”, which is an award-winning documentary that presented life under Israeli occupation.
