Saudi Arabia and Iraq ink deal to tackle drug trafficking

Saudi Arabia and Iraq inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on August 6th in Riyadh to boost ties to tackle drug trafficking and smuggling, according to Arab News plus agencies.
The agreement lists united efforts to combat the trade in drugs, psychotropic substances, and chemical precursors, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The agreement includes 17 notable articles covering provisions such as intelligence-sharing, technical guidance, and the formation of surveillance methods. It also stressed the need for stronger coordination at borders, where both nations face the tough task of tackling cross-border smuggling.
