Building to begin on road connecting Egypt, Libya, and Chad

The Egyptian Deputy Minister of Transport for Road Transport has announced that within a month, construction will begin on a road link connecting Egypt to Chad and Libya, according to the Libya Review on August 11th.
The route will cover 400 kilometres of Egyptian territory, then continue for 390 kilometres across Libya, and finally 930 kilometres across Chad, with memoranda of understanding having been signed by the three nations.
Egypt views the project as a crucial strategic transport and trade corridor to connect North Africa to the Sahel and reinforce political ties between Egypt, Libya, and Chad.
