Afghanistan: Deadly bus crash kills 79, including children

At least 79 people, including 17 children, were killed when a bus carrying Afghan migrants expelled from Iran crashed with two other vehicles and caught fire on the Herat-Kabul highway, according to The New Arab via Reuters on August 20th.Â
Deadly road accidents are frequent in Afghanistan due to poor infrastructure and regular non-adherence to traffic rules. Herat province is presently home to tens of thousands of deported Afghans from Iran.
Footage from the incident showed flames covering the bus, as a fire van attempted to stop the flames. The accident happened at a half-an-hour drive away from the province.
