Deadly week on Morocco’s roads: several killed in crashes

Between August 18 and 24, 2025, 1,973 traffic accidents were recorded in Morocco’s urban areas, according to Tanja24. This resulted in 27 deaths and 2,719 injuries, including 115 serious cases.
According to the General Directorate of National Security, the high toll of accidents that have long persisted are due to driver and pedestrian distraction, failure to yield, speeding, improper lane changes, not respecting stop signs, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The same source noted that security services were able to record 43,665 violations, issue 5,689 reports that were referred to the Public Prosecution, and collect 37,976 amicable fines, while the amount collected amounted to 8 million, 143 thousand, and 225 dirhams
