Lebanon: Hezbollah leader sued for allegedly inciting violence

A number of Lebanese politicians who are against Hezbollah have submitted a criminal complaint on August 27th against the leader of the militant group, Naim Qassem, for allegedly inciting violence, according to The New Arab.

The criminal complaint was filed with Public Prosecutor Jamal Hajjar at Beirut’s Justice Palace by the MPs Elias Khoury, Ashraf Rifi, Camille Chamoun, Georges Okais, former MP Eddie Abi Lamaa and the Change Movement’s head, Elie Mahfoud.

Qassem faces accusations of inciting violence because he said that attempts to enforce disarmament on his militant group could prompt a civil war.
