Libya: deadly fighting breaks out between two armed groups

On August 28th the Libyan city of Al-Zawiya, just west of Tripoli, was the site of a heavy clash between two prominent armed groups using medium and heavy weaponry that left at least two dead, according to the Libya Observer.
A source confirmed that the fighting occurred across several streets in the city creating panic amongst residents, and was sparked by the commander of one group ambushing and killing a senior figure in a rival group.
The lack of any official truce agreement between the groups means the situation is fragile- the capital of Tripoli faces similar tensions between armed groups and the government based there.
