On September 10th, Libya’s Minister of Oil and Gas met with Nigerian officials to reopen the discussions of the plan for a natural gas pipeline to connect West Africa to Europe through Libya, according to the Libya Review.

The transcontinental project is one of Africa’s most ambitious in the energy sector, and would place Libya at the center of a strategic energy corridor whilst boosting its economic recovery.

At the September 10th meeting, both sides agreed to exchange the technical information needed for feasibility studies, and expect to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to define the framework and timeline for the projects.
